Bignonia capreolata, Native Crossvine

This is the species Crossvine, not the cultivar "Tangerine Beauty," which has almost entirely subsumed the mantle of "Crossvine." This Crossvine sports yellow flowers with a deep red throat, and sometimes reverses that patterning for a little "quirk" for the interested observer in Spring. Typically evergreen in Central Texas, this vine can reach lengths over 40', so give it plenty of room to spread! Great for hummingbirds. Adapts well to most soil types and sun exposures, but flowers much more prolifically in 6-plus hours of direct sun and a good, mulched garden soil.
