Justicia brandegeeana, Red Shrimp Plant

Non-native, non-invasive perennial with a very unusual bloom, reminiscent of a shrimp- hence the name. Does well in low-maintenance gardens, beds or naturalistic plantings in any sun exposure from dappled light, morning sun-only, or full sun. The greater the sun exposure, the more regular irrigation it will require. However, in a sunny location Shrimp Plant will perform a dazzling show of arching red/orange/pink bracts and tiny tubular white flowers. Visited by hummingbirds to add a special dash of whimsy.
