A workhorse, and a must in the native enthusiast's garden. Visited by butterflies and bees frequently, as it blooms on and off throughout the growing season, March through November. Cut off old bloomstalks to keep plants tight and lush, and shear back for a more compact form. Native to Texas plains, prairies and harsh, thin soils. Plant in masses for a dramatic effect and for summer color. Deer resistant.
