Ulmus crassifolia, Cedar Elm

Native deciduous tree that will reach 40', possibly taller, and 30' wide. Keeps a "tennis racket" shape that is nice for residential planting. Larval host for local butterflies. Cedar Elms are widely adaptable, and can grow well in lean soils, heavy clay soils, and are extremely drought tolerant once established.
